From the Japanese word, Mottainai, meaning, "too good to waste", I practice using every scrap left on the cutting table.  This piece is created from vintage cotton and silk,  repurposed from vintage kimonos and futon covers. Many of the textiles I find are decades old, with fascinating stories to tell.  The piece is backed and mounted on a 16" x 16" (x 1" deep), cradled birch panel, ready to hang or put into a floater frame, if you wish. (Tax and Shipping included.)

Mottainai #4

  • Thank you for purchasing a handmade item from Berri Kramer (Textiles and Artwork.) I offer a full money-back guarantee for all purchases made on the website. If you are not satisfied with the product you have purchased, you can get a full reimbursement within 14 calendar days. The product must be in the same condition that you received it and undamaged in any way. The textiles I use have been repurposed so there may be a thread, repair or tiny “pull” in the fabric.  This adds to the story of the piece. My most treasured textiles are those with “character” that have travelled may miles.
